Jeff Smith, MP for Manchester Withington, and I have great pleasure in confirming our invitation to you to attend the following event in The Macmillan Room in Portcullis House.
The campaign to erect a statue of Emmeline Pankhurst in Manchester is moving on to an exciting new phase. On Monday, 27th February 2017 the six shortlisted sculptors will unveil their visions for the statue. Each has been asked to create a 40 cm bronze maquette of their idea.
The unveiling will take place between 3.00 p.m. and 5.00 p.m.at an informal drop in event at Portcullis House, Houses of Parliament, London. Helen Pankhurst, Emmeline’s Great Grand Daughter, will be joining us on the day.
