On Monday, 9th July 2018, work began on the meeting circle which will surround the Emmeline Pankhurst statue.
Made from white Portland stone from the Lovell quarry near Corfe Castle in Dorset the meeting circle has been created by Tilley Stonemasons from Brighton.
They have worked with sculptor Hazel Reeves on other projects including the Hove plinth and the Cracker Packers in Carlisle.
