Emmeline Pankhurst 1858 – 1928

Emmeline Pankhurst was celebrated on Day 6 of the cycle ride, Gloucester to Bridgnorth, Tuesday, 9th June 2015. Following the River Severn and the Severn Valley Railway.

Emmeline Pankhurst was a leading suffragist and founder the Women’s Social and Political Union. Much more can be read about her on Wikipedia and in her autobiography My Own Story.

In 2015 the film Suffragette was released starring Meryl Streep as Mrs Pankhurst.
